Renaults ‘fake’ live car ad

Thursday, December 1st, 2005

Passing through Victoria mainline station today I could hear the rev of a car engine; maybe every 30 seconds or so. I choose to investigate and as I get closer, I notice a large transport crate with a small crowd gathered around it. Is someone demoing a new sports car? I get closer and realise that there is no car outside the crate. Ah, I get it now, chuck a couple of loudspeakers in large crate, slap a url on the side and let curiosity do the rest.

Well personally I think its crap. Other than the fact that you have to visit a url for a car which probably doesn’t even sound like the sound effect you’ve just listened to. I don’t need a car. I drive a bike. And if you’re taking the train … well you know you don’t need a car.
