Winter riding tip
Friday, November 25th, 2005It’s cold. Damn cold. Your hands are cold enough without having the extra cold from the metal of the clutch and brake levers freezing your fingers off. So, to avoid touching them, change gear without using the clutch as much as possible (throttle off, gear down or throttle blip, gear up) and avoid using the front brake; using engine braking and the rear brake as much as possible.
These saving tips may stave off frost-bite for as much as 5 minutes (enough time to get in doors, and plunge your frozen extremities in the deep fat frier).
