IT workers are worst dressed
Friday, November 18th, 2005… as dubbed by a Sydney corporate fashion show. Multi-coloured socks and T-shirts are apparently a no-go area now. All techs should wear a shirt, nice pants and shoes.
That would be fair enough if they gave us a new set of clothes each week to replace the hole-ridden pants sustained by crawling under desks to upgrade/replace/break PCs. Oh, and not to mention the hospital bills incurred by strangluation from a neck-tie which got caught in a high speed delta-fan whilst working in an open PC case.
Besides, people are more productive when they’re comfortable. And I’m most comfortable at home. So, whilst I won’t be coming in to work in my silk night wear and slippers carrying the morning paper, I will be coming in in a nice comfortable pair of Nike’s, jeans and a T-shirt.
