Rio police chopper shot down during clash with drug gangs

Violence has broken out in a shanty town north of Rio De Janeiro between police and drug gangs. This is the worst outbreak of violence since the city was awarded the 2016 Olympics (Chicago doesn’t seem so bad now does it?)

The chopper was attacked during the fighting and was trying to make an emergency landing in a football field, the pilot had been shot in> the leg which could explain why the landing was unsuccessful. The two officers on-board the chopper died and a new gun battle began shortly after.

Ten gangsters have been reportedly killed during the clashes with two police officers have reportedly bee wounded.
