Officer Feeds Dog Own Leg

Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

A Titusville animal control officer was bitten after attending what was reported to have been a dog fight.

Local police officers had investigated a backyard and found two pit bulls, one of which was in pretty bad shape.

“Our officer walked up just when one of the dogs was released on the other,” said Sgt. Jeff King of the Titusville Police. “I guess they were training them to prepare for a fight or something.”

One of the dogs charged an animal control officer and bit her on the leg. The dog was quarantined whilst the other was sent to an animal shelter.

“We know who (one of the) suspects is. We are planning to pick him up, [and bite him .ed]” said a police spokesman. “It is a terrible thing those poor dogs had to suffer those injuries,”

The suspects can look forward to felony charges.

I perform with these dogs and as far as animal behavior goes, I am a firm believer in nurture and training. I’ve met Jack Russell Terriers that I would not go in close proximity to again, but have for no reason had a awful practical knowledge with an American Staffordshire Terrier. If you’re speaking about their owners- well, which is a several story. Humans are animals as nicely, and we tend to every have our individual concepts about “moral concepts”.
