Pine cone shortages causes mutant killer squirrels

Friday, December 2nd, 2005

Ok so they’re not mutants. But a village in the far east is being plagued by vicious meat-eating squirrels.

According to eye witnesses, a large stray dog was barking at a tree antagonising some squirrels hiding in branches when they suddenly went tactical. Passers-by tried to intervene they fled; but it was too late. A local journalist said “They literally gutted the dog”.

However, a local scientist to the region said that whilst squirrels may attack a birds nest through lack of protein sources, attacking large animals was “absurd”. Tell that to the dog.

The BBC has the full scoop.
