Penis eating worm a.k.a the Bobbit worm found in U.K aquarium

U.K- A giant worm that eats penises and feeds them to its children has been found at an aquarium in Hull, England. The specimen is over 1m long and was found by staff after moving rocks in an aquarium exhibit.

The female Bobbit worm (named after Lorena Bobbit who chopped off her husband’s penis in a domestic dispute)bites off the males penis and feeds it to their young.

The worm is usually found in Indo-Pacific waters and lies in wait with its powerful jaws open for prey to swim past. The Bobbit worm is among the largest type of worm in the world and there have been reports of them growing up to 4 metres long.

The Bobbit worm is nocturnal and can often be a nuisance to fish owners with large tanks, as it will eat fish but remain hidden during the day so owners have reported mysteriously vanishing fish and been unaware of the culprit.
