Man Attacked With Gun, Deer Antlers

Friday, December 15th, 2006

“They got into a first altercation and the one guy tries to attack the second guy with deer antlers,” sheriff’s Sgt. Andy McIntosh said. “It’s not an everyday occurrence.”

The two men were arrested on assault charges during an incident of apparent road rage. Ronny White, 35, and Keith Ransford, 23, both of Fort Pierce, were charged with aggravated assault.

They both stopped along US 1 to argue when White attacked Ransford with deer antlers (some people keep a crowbar in their trunk, others keep antlers - each to their own). They both then got back into their cars and crashed into each other. White pulled a handgun and fired upon Ransford’s vehicle.

Maybe Ransford was really close with the deer; who knows. The investigation is ongoing.
