Brazilian Student Claims Birth of Cat-Dog Hybrid
Thursday, November 16th, 2006
Brazilian student Cassia Aparecida de Souza, 18, claims her cat’s offspring has been born with dog traits last Friday, three months after mating with a neighbour’s dog in the Brazilian city of Passo Fundo.
Cassia, and her husband Rogerio, claim that the puppies are part of the cat, Mimi’s litter of six.
They said that the three born with cat features died soon after birth, leaving the surviving three dog-like offsprings.
A geneticist from the Passo Fundo University plans to take blood samples from the animals to verify the claim.
In the meantime, all we can do is guess as to how else a cat/dog cross breed could result…

Whoopss.. The cat in the middle seems annoyed having two puppies sticked to her… Are you sure that those dogs are the offspring of that cat… it does not look like it to me..

I have been looking for this for a long time. I have always wondered what would come out when a dog and a cat breeded. These puppy/kittens look more like puppies though. They are still really cute though!

LOL its supposedly impossible to breed the two.. but who knows maybe it does occur extremely rarely.nothing is technically completely impossible.. they are both carnivores.. both share a common prehistoric ancestor(I believe) when they both climbed trees I heard somewhere.. bears too.. cats bears and dogs.. somewhere on some documentary a long time ago(not making this up) :P or that their ancestors were just similar.
if you look at a dog without all the Human intervention in nature its got triangular prick ears.. just a longer muzzle a bushy although less flexible tail and canines which almost if not all predators have :P *shrugs* if someone said a poodle was related to a rottweiler way back they’d laugh at you. or a pug to a whippet. Lol

I’m really curious about this…Hopefully the results will blow up on the net…it would be so cool if it actually became possible…though, many have said it impossible…but consider how many things that have occurred to prove the impossible…possible. Lets wait & see…Who knows what the future may bring… ;)
