XBOX 360 is out
Tuesday, November 22nd, 2005In the US at least. After the recent demise of my own first gen XBOX I’m not looking forward to forking out more money for another console. The thing is, the XBOX has been plagued with problems regarding parts. Yes, the same can be said with the PS2 but the issues didn’t seem as bad with the Sony product.
Anyway, as has been reported elsewhere, the 360 isn’t launching with any sufficiently killer tiles. Halo 3 isn’t until next year.
I just read a review of Quake 4 on the 360 and it seems to be a poor port of the PC version. Ok so it’s effectrively the same game, but there are texture issues and a very prominent frame-rate issue; which apprently rears it’s head just too often.
But still, I haven’t played the unit and I’d like to see some games first hand. Yet, I really want to see what Sony and Nintendo have in store for their gaming line-ups. At the end of the day, my PC kills all the consoles in terms of graphics (as you’d expect for a PC), but it’s the games that force me to buy all; and if the 360 doesn’t cut it on the games front, then M$ or any other manufacturer isn’t getting my money.
