Doug Aube was convicted Wednesday afternoon in a Madison County courtroom.

According to police reports, officers stopped the car carrying the costume-clad 23-year-old Fond du Lac man at the intersection of Ninth and Morris Streets at about 11:30 p.m. Sept. 13 because the car did not have its headlights on.

The man and his passenger, a 21-year-old Fond du Lac man, were tested for alcohol and the younger man registered .06 blood/alcohol content. Since he is on probation, he was arrested and taken to jail, according to the report.

While officers searched the men, the older man said his wallet was in the spandex of his outfit, according to the report. Police found marijuana in the car.

The older man was cited and released, according to the report.

The police report begins: “(The victim) states her husband had been drinking and they got into an argument.”

James Izzolena, 54, of 3515 Sheridan Ave., was charged with domestic assault causing injury. Police said he became upset with his wife, Nicole Izzolena, 27, and tossed an onion at her, striking her in the back of the head.

She told police it made her head hurt. James Izzolena admitted throwing the onion, police said, but he claimed he did not intend to hit her with it. He was being held without bond pending a court appearance today.

Milwaukee police said a 3-year-old girl found a gun inside a home near Teutonia Avenue and Chambers Street and pulled the trigger.

A 32-year-old man who lives in the house told police he stores a loaded gun behind the stove and that the girl got a hold of it somehow and walked into a room where two 6-year-old boys were playing.

The gun accidentally fired, striking one of the 6-year-olds in the abdomen and bicep, police said.

According to police, the adults in the house fled with the exception of the 32-year-old man, who was arrested on charges of being a felon in possession of a firearm and leaving a loaded firearm within the reach of a child.

Police recovered the weapon - a .32 caliber semiautomatic.

The mother of the boy who was shot baby sits the 3-year-old. She told police she was out for a walk at the time of the shooting, police said.

The boy was taken to Children’s Hospital and was in stable condition Wednesday morning.

Possible criminal charges could be filed but police have not been specific.

Police said they know the boy and girl are not related.

The Bureau of Milwaukee Child Welfare is also investigating.

The end result was that Jose A. Mojica, 33, of Madison, his brother-in-law, Oscar Maldonado, of Montgomery, Ill., and Brenda A. Freilinger, 42, of Madison, all face criminal charges for the early Monday morning incident.

Mojica faces the most serious charges in the batch, including two counts of second degree reckless endangerment, criminal damage to property misdemeanor bail jumping and one count of prostitution. Freilinger, the alleged hooker, faces two counts of prostitution and Maldonado faces one.

A young man in the UK got a serious shock when the PS2 that he’d won on eBay arrived at his home in Aylsham, Norfolk. The game system — which he’d paid £95 for — arrived without the two games promised by the seller, but with £44,000, or about $90,378. The boy and his family turned the money over to police, who are holding it until late September under the UK’s “Proceeds of Crime Act” while they investigate the case. Curtis Haven Bacon attempted to steal a calf by using a rope, tied around the animals neck, to pull it. unfortunately, the rope caused series injuries to the calf and it had to be put down.

Deputies were alerted to the incident when a witness saw Bacon pulling the calf.

34-year-old Bacon (or Curtis ‘Unsmoked’ Bacon as he’s now known) was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with aggravated abuse of an animal, grand theft and felony cruelty to an animal, jail records state. He was released after posting $11,500 bail.

Judge Ted Berry was responding to the same phrase that was uttered at him by Ivan Boykins, a defendant Berry had just sentenced to spend 30 days in jail after Boykins complained that he didn’t want probation because it would prevent him smoking marijuana.

The American Bar Association’s Model Code of Judicial Conduct does not specifically outline what a judge can and cannot say to a defendant.
