Interested in dancing from an early age, Cole joined the Royal Ballet’s summer school at the age of nine.In addition to dancing, Cole won many modelling competitions, including Boots Group’s bonniest baby, Mothercare Happy Faces Portrait competition, Best Looking Girl of Newcastle, The Evening Chronicle “Little Miss and Mister”, and “Most Attractive Girl” at the MetroCentre.
Cheryl burst onto the main stream music scene in 2002 after a successful audition on the T.V show Popstars:The rivals, which eventually lead to her being selected to be part of the girl group Girls Aloud (which had a Ginger in it). The groups debut single Sound of the Underground went straight to the top of the U.K singles charts and was the Christmas number one that year
Cheryl is married to Chelsea footballer Ashley Cole, and she is often criticised for staying with him because of an apparent “gay encounter” with a number of other famous celebrities (story here) and also numerous other incidents where he has romped with other women.
